Check City is excited to announce a $1,000 scholarship essay contest for college students. The Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship contest is named for Richard Rawle, the father of Check City CEO Tracy Rawle. The Rawle family believes that education is essential for making communities thrive. Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for The Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship, applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited 2- or 4-year university or college in the United States. Students must be attending their study program full-time with a minimum GPA of 2.5. All students are encouraged to apply, regardless of their major or minor.
How To Apply
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must fill out the scholarship application and submit a 500-word essay on the following topic:
“How have you given back to your community and what did you learn in the process?”
Submission Deadline
The essay submission deadline is June 1, 2021. Once all submissions are received, they will be reviewed by the Check City Scholarship Committee. The winning essay will ideally recount the applicant’s personal experience with volunteering or giving back to their community.
Additional Scholarship Information
The Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship is awarded twice annually in the amount of $1,000. Once awarded, the scholarship funds will be disbursed to the winner’s school to be used for college-related fees including tuition, books, and accommodations.
