Warm Hearts Coat Drive to Support The Road Home
The Warm Hearts Coat Drive collects coat donations each year and delivers them to the Road Home, a men’s resource center in South Salt Lake. The Warm Hearts Coat Drive works alongside this men’s resource center to give much needed items like warm coats to those in need.

The Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship From Check City
Check City is excited to announce a $1,000 scholarship essay contest for college students. The Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship contest is named for Richard Rawle, the father of Check City CEO Tracy Rawle. The Rawle family believes that education is essential for making communities thrive. With The Richard Rawle Memorial Scholarship funds, students can finance their education and contribute to the development of their communities.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is the largest, non-governmental sponsor of muscle and nerve disease research. It is a nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The MDA also provides comprehensive health care, support services, advocacy, and education.
The MDA is funded almost by individual private contributions and donors. MDA seeks no fees from those it serves.
MDA dedicates 78.3 cents of every dollar it spends directly to research, services, and education. MDA sends more than 4,000 children with muscular dystrophy to accessible MDA summer camps each year, at a cost to MDA of $800 per camper. There’s no charge to the families.
Tens of thousands of people visit MDA’s 220 clinics and 35 MDA/ALS centers every year. MDA awards research grants to more than 300 teams of scientists and physicians worldwide.
More Ways the MDA Helps the World:
- Helps buy and repair wheelchairs, leg braces, and communication devices
- Facilitates meetings of 240 MDA support groups
- Provides thousands of free flu vaccines
- Conducts extensive public education programs

The Police Athletic League (PAL) of South Salt Lake is a branch of a larger organization, the National Police Athletic Activities Leagues Inc. The PAL program is meant to do good in communities across the nation.
The South Salt Lake PAL group holds all kinds of events and activities each year to help build strong and vibrant communities.
Some of those efforts include the South Lake PAL boxing group and the Salt Lake Culinary Thanksgiving.
Join Check City in donating to these important youth and community programs so the South Salt Lake PAL group can continue making a difference.
The Foundations for Independence group is all about fostering more understanding around disabilities and creating opportunities.
Check City has been a part of its Change for Change Program through canister collections.

The Primary Children’s Medical Center is a nationally ranked children’s hospital dedicated to helping our children survive and thrive. By contributing to the Primary Children’s Medical Center you can have a huge impact on the lives of children who need your help. You can help the Children’s Hospital provide the treatments these kids need and continue their medical research.
When you donate to the Primary Children’s Hospital, you’ll know your contributions are going directly to the children. Here are a few of the things your donations will go toward:

The United Way of Utah County is a community organization meant to unite us all together.
The United Way Day of Caring is an all-day event that takes place each year. This is an annual day of service that helps schools, local nonprofits, city parks, and more.
The Souper Bowl of Caring is a charity organization that has been in operation since 1990. With the help of giving communities, they collect food each year to help tackle hunger.
In 2020, thousands of giving communities like ours helped collect over $10.6 million worth of monetary and food donations.
Utah’s Food Bank helps collect food and monetary donations each year for the families that need it. In fact, the food drive efforts from our communities helped distribute 44.1 million meals to children and families who need it most.
By partnering with Noah’s Animal House, family pets can also find a safe haven when their owners come to the Shade Tree.
At the Shade Tree, you can make a one-time donation, or schedule a recurring donation. You can even help fund a single woman, a family, or a family pet.
The Shade Tree also accepts item donations. On their website you’ll find a list of donated items they accept each year that go toward helping women and their families get back on their feet.

Check City is always looking for new ways to get involved and stay connected with the community. If your organization has a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, contact one of our store managers to find out how we can support your efforts.
The Ride for Life charity was started by the Utah ATV association almost 35 years ago. Each year the Utah ATV association rides together to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah.
Register to ride with the association and go participate in the raffles and fundraisers. It’s a night of fun where all your money goes to something helpful and worthwhile.
Relay For Life is a charity that fights cancer with their donations and fundraising events. Captains of compassion put on fundraising events each year to help gather funds for the fight against cancer.
Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
The Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is a large network of people and organizations who all have one goal in common—to strengthen and bring together Hispanic communities.
The Junior League of Salt Lake City has been doing good in their community since they first began serving in 1931. It is a women’s organization committed to service and strengthening their community of women.
