Looking for things to do in Las Vegas that the whole family will enjoy? Sometimes that task is a little more difficult if you have a family with kids of different ages. And being in Las Vegas, Nevada has most people thinking about slot machines and casinos, not family vacations. But it can be done! It is possible to have a great family vacation while in Las Vegas without ever stepping foot in a casino (or at least the gambling portion).
Whether you have toddlers or teenagers, they are sure to enjoy the many family fun activities available to do in Las Vegas; here are just a few:
1. M&Mâs World
If you have a sweet tooth, one of the best things to do in Las Vegas is visit M&Mâs World. The very first M&Mâs World to ever open was in 1997 right in Las Vegas in the Showcase mall next to the MGM Grand. It is a four-story building with a gift shop on the first floor where you can find customized souvenirs like key chains, mugs, etc. (Canât find your name? donât worry you can customize your own ID tag.)
The second floor is full of candy dispensers; there is a whole wall that is actually called âthe rainbow wallâ featuring 22 different M&M colors. The third floor has collectorâs items and the fourth floor has luggage and home dĂ©cor. This is a great place to take the kids, especially if your family is a fan of M&Ms.
2. A Gondola Ride at the Venetian
The Venetian is so many things and has so many things to do; it is a hotel, a restaurant, a casino, and much more. One of the most family-friendly things about the Venetian is the Gondola rides. These rides can be indoor or outdoor, and they make you feel like you are really in Venice as you lounge about and take in the beautiful scenery all around you while your Gondolier serenades you and your family.
3. The Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur
One of the most fun things to do in Las Vegas is go back in time! If your kids love a good show take them to the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur. This is the most popular Las Vegas dinner shows, complete with dancing maidens, fireworks, food, invading armies, jousting, and so much more. It is a non-stop medieval experience, and your family will love every minute of it.
4. Shark Reef Aquarium of Mandalay Bay
Do your kids enjoy seeing sea creatures up close that they would normally only see in movies? Going snorkeling off the coast to see fish and sharks is just not possible to do every summer, and so going to the Shark Reef Aquarium of Mandalay Bay could be the next best thing! This is an awesome aquarium that features more than 2,000 watery animals. They even have sharks, crocodiles and a Komodo dragon.
5. Fountains of Bellagio
Want something fun to do in Las Vegas that wont cost you an arm and a leg? Then look no further than the Fountains of Bellagio. A wonderful and free display that combines water, lights and music for a show unlike anything else you have ever seen. Missed the show? Donât worry, it happens multiple times per day. Just come back an hour or two later.
6. Las Vegas Natural History Museum
Still looking for something fun yet affordable? Try the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. This museum is just a few miles away from the Strip and features lifelike replicas of dinosaurs, woolly mammoths, and other (now extinct) animals from pre-history.
7. Ethel M Chocolate Factory
Learn about how chocolate is made and get a sneak peak at what happens behind-the-scenes at a beautiful chocolate factory. Kids will especially love this stop on the tour because of the free chocolate samples.
8. Adventuredome at Circus Circus
The Adventuredome at Circus Circus is the largest indoor theme park in the world, showcasing bumper cars, clown shows, a roller coaster ride that shoots you along at 55 mph, and so much more. Donât miss this one-of-a-kind Vegas icon on your family adventure!
