Check City Raises $29,100 with Shade Tree Fund Raiser

If you’ve been following our blog for the past couple of month’s you’ll probably remember that during the month’s of February and March Check City set a goal to raise as much money as possible for The Shade Tree in Las Vegas. For those of you that are not familiar with The Shade Tree and the great work that they do for the people of Las Vegas here is a breif summary from their about page:

“The Shade Tree is the largest shelter of it’s kind in the state, and is the only 24-hour accessible shelter designed specifically to meet the needs of women and children in Southern Nevada. With 364 permanent beds, The Shade Tree provides over 100,000 nights of shelter each year. On average, 33% of our clients are children under the age of 18.”

Check City has a long standing philosophy of teaming up with exceptional local charitable causes and The Shade Tree is definitely one of those exceptional causes.

As a result of the dollar matching fundraiser that we held in all of our Las Vegas Check City locations we were able to deliver a check on April 1, 2013 for a total of $29,100 to Marlene Richter, executive director of Shade Tree. Everyone here at Check City is extremely excited about the success of this fundraiser and want to thank all of our loyal customers who helped us reach this goal with their generous donations.
