2 More Banks Have Been Breached

The number has hit 22, just in the year 2010, with two new Ohio banks debit cards being breached this week. The first Ohio breach occurred in the Cleveland, OH based National City Bank, which has transferred ownership to PNC Financial Services. The second break in security was with an Unidentified Third-Party lender of Fifth Third Bank and has caused the bank to replace affected debit cards in not only Ohio but Michigan as well. The first break was believed to be a small breach and a PNC spokesman says that they believe that the only consumers that were affected

Fake Money Orders and the Market

Don’t get scammed by the fake money orders circulating the country.  Also, don’t be surprised if you go in to try to cash or deposit a money order and discover that it has a hold on it. If this happens and you are a member of the financial institution you are trying to cash it at, you may be asked to deposit it instead and your money could be delayed for days.  If you aren’t a member of the bank you are trying to cash it with, that process could be delayed even longer, because you may be refused completely.
