Eating Salads this Summer

One of the best ways to eat light this summer while dropping pounds is to eat a lot of salads over the next few months. Although we still have a bit of a cultural stereotype about salads wherein we picture people wincing as they force their way through band meals, the truth of the matter is that salads is delicious.

In fact, the best part about salad is that it has so much variety and so much you can do with it. For example, you can vary just how healthy a salad is, from the relatively neutral iceberg leaves to the dark greens and purple leaves that are much richer in nutrients. One can of course mix and match the base of the salad all they like. There are many different ways to prepare it, so you can customize it to your personal tastes and preferences.

As well as the base of leaves, there are huge amount of possible ingredients and toppings and dressings that you can put on your salad. Part of the fun of eating salads is being able to find the things that are different. For example, most people are familiar with the staples of Italian dressing and croutons and Caesar salads, but have not tried nuts and berries.

You can sprinkle on cheese of any kind in order to give your salad some zip, as well as adding meat to it as well. You can make entire meals out of the salad combinations that you can create in such a fashion. From chicken salad to Southwestern feasts to Italian gourmet options, there are many different winning options for you to take.

When it all comes down to it, salad can help you stay cool and energized and healthy, while still being quite tasty and delicious. Try making your own invention,and enjoy the results!
