2.) Do not wear long sleeves or loose clothing while grilling.
3.) In case of an unexpected flare up, keep a fire extinguisher handy.
4.) Use charcoal lighter fluid to light new coals only; do not use it on coals that are already lit.
Safety Tips For Gas Grills:
1.) Before you fire up the grill, make sure that you inspect the propane tank for problems such as bulges or leaks, rust or leakage. Do not risk any of these problems; replace the tank and or other pieces of the grill with similar problem spots.
2.) No matter if your grill is on or not, do not smoke cigarettes or use lighters or matches near the grill in case of gas leakage.
3.) Keep your tank in the upright position and keep hoses away from hot or grease dripping areas.
4.) For risk of explosion, never try to remove the valve, and make sure it is closed tight after using your grill.
5.) As with all grills, only use them outdoors and away from the home; do not use them indoors or even in a covered porch.
6.) If you are traveling with your grill, make sure to do so during cool times or days; being in a hot car can add pressure and be potentially risky for explosion.
7.) Make sure to dispose of empty propane tanks in proper areas, and not in the trash.
