There are plenty of things to do that would cost you little or no money. However, people always seem to choose the activities that cost them the most money. In this article I have included a list of some things you can either do on your own or with friends and family that cost much less than going to a movie or amusement park and can be just as fun, and probably more educational. The list includes a wide variety of activities, games, and relaxing ideas so you should be able to find something that works for you no matter what you like to do.
- It may sound a little boring, but a Visit to the Library can be relaxing and enjoyable. Not only do public libraries have books, but most include videos, DVDs, CDs and other items available for check out. A lot of the time they are willing to do inter-library loans as well so that if they don’t have the item you are looking for they can usually get it on loan from another library.
- Watch the latest episodes of your favorite TV show online. Most networks are now including up to 3 or 4 of the most recent episodes of most of their currently airing TV shows and there are websites such as Hulu that may include other seasons of those and other TV shows.
- Blog or visit Message Boards. Blogging has become one of the most popular forms of social media recently and they are a great way to express yourself and your ideas. You can also join many message boards about everything from your favorite TV show to computer and tech help.
- Learn a new skill. There are guides and instructions on the internet that teach you everything from swing dancing to Spanish. If there is something you may have always wanted to do, try finding instructions for it on the internet.
- Improve your cooking, or other skills. If you have ingredients or other food laying around the house that you never use, try making something new. There are plenty of recipes and ideas on the internet and this is where your message board membership may come in handy.
- Make your own Slip-N-Slide using black garbage bags. It may sound childish but you may be surprised at how fun it actually is. If you have children they will probably be excited as well.
- Visit your local art galleries or museums. These are usually free or relatively cheap for entrance fees and there is usually a pretty good turn around on art and other exhibits being shown. If you are a student,don’t forget to show your I.D. and ask for student discounts.
