Repertory Dance Theater loved performing and choreographing its family program “Joyride” last year that artistic director Linda C. Smith decided to do it again this year. This year’s upcoming concert is named in memory of the first, “Joyride II.”
This program is geared towards families and children and is uniquely choreographed to create the feeling of youth and imagination. Combined with the stage elements, outfits, and dancing- work to bring out the child in all of us.
Along with creating the feeling of youth and imagination the main themes behind the production are exercise and nutrition. Repertory Dance Theater feels it is important to address the rising rate of obesity and diabetes for kids of the rising generation.
In a society that struggles with weight and body image we can all look to Repertory Dance Theater to communicate their message through their unique outlet of dance.
