Joyride II

November 20, 2009 by Amelia G

Repertory Dance Theatre loved performing and choreographing its family program "Joyride" last year that artistic director Linda C. Smith decided to do it again this year. This year’s upcoming concert is named in memory of the first, "Joyride II."

This program is geared towards families and children and is uniquely choreographed to create the feeling of youth and imagination. Combined with the stage elements, outfits, and dancing- work to bring out the child in all of us.

Along with creating the feeling of youth and imagination the main themes behind the production are exercise and nutrition. Repertory Dance Theatre feels it is important to address the rising rate of obesity and diabetes for kids of the rising generation.

In a society that struggles with weight and body image we can all look to Repertory Dance Theatre to communicate their message through their unique outlet of dance.

November 16, 2009 by Amelia G

First held in 1981 at a hotel convention center on St. George Boulevard, the Jubilee of Trees has become the largest showcase of custom designed Christmas trees and wreaths shown between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. It features spectacular custom designed full-size Christmas trees, mini and table-top trees, holiday wreaths, gingerbread houses, gifts and seasonal décor.

The Jubilee of Trees also features several fun events within the showcase. Some events include a Teddy Bear Picnic for children, a fashion show, and concerts.

This year, the Jubilee of Trees is benefitting children's services by helping Life Flight helicopter services take flight at Dixie Regional Medical Center.

It will soon be time to get out the gold and silver to decorate that Christmas Tree. When you have some gold, silver, or platinum you are ready to give up for cash- remember that Check City has a Gold Buying Program.

During the first half of November, Pioneer Memorial Theater presents an adapted play originally written by Mark Twain, called Is He Dead?

Millet is a brilliant but impoverished painter, and he’s a man with a singular problem. His problem is that no one will pay good money for his paintings while he’s still alive. During the play, his friends persuade him that the secret to success lies in convincing the world he’s dead. Millet devices a scheme which could make him rich, famous, and able to marry the girl of his dreams—if only he didn’t have to be a corpse to do it!

You don’t need a lot of money to get a money order at Check City. Money Orders are a free service at any Check City location.
