Obama Donates Money to Charity Organizations Today President Obama is donating the money awarded him through the Nobel Peace Prize to several charity organizations. The monetary award that came with his Nobel Peace Prize totaled $1.4 million. Obama gave $750,000 to six different charities that help college students to pay for school. $250,000 will go to Fisher’s House, which offers housing to families of veterans who were wounded during war and are located in Veteran Administration hospitals. A Bright Future Economists are saying that in the next few months the United States economy will be supported less by the government’s efforts and will depend more on business investment and exports for growth. They estimate the economy will grow by about 2.75 percent annual rate throughout the next six months. This hopeful rate is somewhat diminished from their previous estimate of 2.9 percent with a 5.9 percent spike during the fourth quarter.
